SpiceJet launches Haj 2025 flights with wide-body aircraft

SpiceJet has initiated its Haj 2025 operations, marking the occasion with a first flight from Gaya to Medina. The airline is deploying two Airbus A340 wide-body aircraft, each capable of carrying 324 passengers, to serve routes including Srinagar, Guwahati to Medina and Kolkata to Jeddah. A total of 45 flights are scheduled for the first phase. For this year's Haj, SpiceJet aims to facilitate the travel of approximately 15,500 pilgrims, an 18% increase from the 13,000 carried in 2024. Last year, the company operated 102 Haj flights generating a revenue of INR209 Crore. A 189-seater Boeing 737 aircraft has been deployed on the Gaya-Medina route.
