Coal India appoints Satyabrata Panda as independent director

Coal India Limited (CIL) announced the appointment of Shri Satyabrata Panda as a non-official Independent Director to its Board, as per a Ministry of Coal directive issued on April 30, 2025. The appointment, effective from April 30, 2025, is for a one-year term or until further orders. This decision complies with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations, read alongside SEBI circular SEBI/HO/CFD/PoD2/CIR/P/0155, dated November 11, 2024. The disclosure confirms that Shri Panda is not related to any other director of the company and is not debarred from holding the office. Shri Panda holds an M.A. in Economics and has an established career in journalism, serving as an editor. He is also a board member of IIT Bhubaneswar.
