IndiGo appoints Michael Whitaker as independent director

InterGlobe Aviation (BSE: INDIGO) announced the appointment of Michael Whitaker as an additional Independent Director, effective upon receipt of security clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and shareholder approval. Whitaker, who recently served as Administrator of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), brings extensive industry and government experience expected to bolster IndiGo's operations, safety standards, and global expansion strategies. IndiGo's Managing Director, Rahul Bhatia, highlighted Whitaker's deep industry knowledge and government experience as crucial for the firm. At the same time, the company noted that Dr. V. Sumantran's term as an Independent Director and Chairman will conclude on May 27, 2025, with Sumantran not seeking re-election. The board expressed its gratitude for Dr. Sumantran's contributions during his tenure. The decisions were formalized during a board meeting held on April 24, 2025, which commenced at 10:30 A.M.
