Mazagon Dock appoints Veni Thapar as independent director

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (BSE: MAZDOCK) announced the appointment of Ms. Veni Thapar as a Part-time Non-Official (Independent) Director to its Board, effective April 21, 2025. The appointment follows orders from the Ministry of Defence. Thapar's term will last for one year, or until further notice. Thapar is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a practicing fellow member of the ICAI, a Cost Accountant from ICMA, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor from ISACA (USA). She also holds a Diploma in Information Systems Audit and a Certificate in International Taxation from ICAI. The company confirmed that Ms. Thapar is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any SEBI order or any other statutory authority, nor is she disqualified under Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013.
