ABB to spin off robotics division as separate entity

ABB India has announced that its parent company, ABB Limited, intends to spin off its Robotics division into a separately listed company. The decision, subject to approval at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, would see ABB Robotics begin trading independently in the second quarter of 2026. ABB Robotics, which generated revenues of USD 2.3 billion in 2024 with an Operational EBITA margin of 12.1 percent, will be distributed to current ABB Ltd shareholders as a dividend in kind. ABB believes this move will enhance the value and growth potential of both the robotics business and the remaining ABB divisions. The Machine Automation division, currently part of the Robotics & Discrete Automation business area, will transition to the Process Automation business area in the first quarter of 2026. The Board of Directors of ABB India will assess the potential implications for the company's Robotics business (RARO) in India.
