BHEL signs technology transfer agreement with BARC

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced today the signing of a Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for the transfer of Mixed-Matrix Membrane Diaphragm technology, which is crucial for separator applications in electrochemical cells used in electrolyser systems. The technology, developed by BARC, offers an effective replacement for asbestos diaphragms and a lower-cost alternative to Zirfon. BHEL aims to use this technology to fully indigenize alkaline electrolyser systems, supporting the "National Green Hydrogen Mission" and the Indian government's "Make in India" initiative.
