Bharat Electronics secures INR 22.1bn Air Force order

Bharat Electronics (BSE:BEL) announced that it has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence to supply Electronic Warfare (EW) suites for Mi 17 V5 helicopters of the Indian Air Force. The order is valued at INR 22.1 billion (excluding taxes). The EW suite, indigenously designed and developed by CASDIC, DRDO and manufactured by BEL, includes Radar Warning Receivers (RWR), Missile Approach Warning Systems (MAWS), and Counter Measure Dispensing Systems (CMDS). The company notes that these systems significantly enhance helicopter survivability. With this new contract, Bharat Electronics' order book for the current financial year has reached INR 28.03 billion.
