Paytm partners with Hyderabad to deploy 400 card machines

One 97 Communications, operating as Paytm, has partnered with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to enhance property tax collection efficiency. As part of the collaboration, Paytm will deploy 400 of its innovative All-In-One EDC devices (card machines) throughout Hyderabad. The card machines will be placed at multiple collection centers and will also facilitate door-to-door service, enabling citizens to pay property taxes via credit cards, debit cards, and Paytm QR codes. GHMC currently collects between INR5 crore and INR7 crore in property tax monthly, which surges to INR22 crore during mid-year and fiscal year-end periods. This solution aims to improve convenience, processing speed, and transparency in tax collection for both citizens and municipal authorities.
