NHPC commissions key units at Parbati-II project, solar plant update

NHPC (BSE: NHPC) has announced the commencement of commercial operations (COD) for Unit #1, Unit #2, and Unit #3 (each with 200 MW capacity) of the Parbati-II Hydroelectric (HE) Project (800 MW) in Himachal Pradesh, effective April 1, 2025. This milestone follows successful trial runs, aligning with SEBI (Listing Obligations & Disclosure Requirements) Regulations. The company stated that information regarding the trial run and COD of the remaining Unit #4 (200 MW) would be communicated in due course. In a related development, NHPC also provided an update on the 300 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan, stating it has been connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and commenced injecting 31 MW of power into the grid as of March 31, 2025. The commercial commissioning of part capacity of 100 MW in phases will be declared later. The complete 300 MW solar project is expected to be commissioned by August 31, 2025. These developments underscore NHPC's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio across hydro and solar power sectors.
