DCM Shriram commissions new caustic soda flakes plant

DCM Shriram announced the commissioning of a new state-of-the-art caustic soda flakes plant with a 300 TPD capacity at its flagship chemicals complex in Jhagadia, Bharuch district, Gujarat, effective March 31, 2025. The new plant increases the Bharuch unit's total caustic soda flakes production capacity to 900 TPD, positioning it as one of the largest single-location producers in India. The plant is an identical twin of a unit commissioned last year, offering fuel flexibility to drive sustainability and efficiency. DCM Shriram highlights that it is the country's second-largest caustic soda producer with an installed capacity of one million metric tonnes per annum.
