Airtel prepays debt, launches IPTV, appoints new executives

Bharti Airtel (BSE: BHARTIARTL) announced a series of strategic moves on March 26, 2025, impacting its financial structure, service offerings, and leadership team. The company prepaid an additional ₹5,985 crore of high-cost spectrum liabilities and voluntarily redeemed $1 billion in perpetual debt securities, fully clearing debt from the 2024 auctions. This prepayment, part of a larger strategy, totals ₹66,665 crore in cumulative spectrum liability prepayments to date, resulting in Airtel clearing scheduled installments of ₹116,405 crore. Airtel also voluntarily called and redeemed $1 billion USD Perpetual Notes, leaving $479 million outstanding.
