L&T secures large overseas water treatment order

Larsen & Toubro (L&T: LT) has secured a major overseas order for its Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business. In a joint venture with Lantania of Spain, L&T will construct the Ras Mohaisen Desalination plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for ACWA Power, a leading Middle East developer. The desalination plant will have a capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day, providing drinking water to the Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Baha regions, benefitting approximately one million people. The project scope includes design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of the seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, alongside associated facilities and a Solar PV plant. This order marks L&T's second desalination project in Saudi Arabia recently.
