Leo Puri resigns as Hindustan Unilever independent director

Hindustan Unilever (BSE: HINDUNILVR) announced today that Leo Puri has resigned from his position as an Independent Director of the company, effective at the close of business hours on June 30, 2025. According to the company's statement, Puri's resignation is due to an increase in his other board commitments, including a proposed appointment to a global entity and implications relating to overboarding criteria outlined in European Corporate Governance requirements. Consequent to his resignation from the Board, Puri will also cease to be the Chairperson of the Risk Management Committee, ESG Committee, and Independent Committee, and will no longer be a Member of the Audit Committee. Puri was initially appointed as an Independent Director on October 12, 2018. Hindustan Unilever confirmed that there are no other material reasons for the resignation.
