Ramco Cements resolves CENVAT credit dispute

Ramco Cements (RAMCOCEM) announced the resolution of a litigation pertaining to the disallowance of CENVAT (Central Value Added Tax) credit on outward freight, according to an exchange filing on March 12, 2025. The company's appeal before the CESTAT (Customs, Excise, and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal) was initially remanded back to the Original Authority, the Commissioner of GST and Central Excise, Tiruchirapalli, with the CESTAT's order dating back to September 4, 2024. Subsequently, on February 27, 2025, the Original Authority issued an order, which was received by Ramco Cements on March 11, 2025, effectively dropping further proceedings related to the case. The resolution pertains to an amount of Rs.4.92 Crores.
