Tata Power to develop 7 GW renewable projects in Andhra Pradesh

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop up to 7,000 MW of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid projects with or without storage solutions. The investment in these projects is estimated at approximately ₹49,000 crore. This collaboration aims to enhance Andhra Pradesh's renewable energy portfolio and accelerate its transition to a green energy future. The projects would be set up under Andhra Pradesh's Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy. Tata Power will conduct preliminary assessments and feasibility studies, while the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) will provide facilitation and support. The initiative is expected to enhance Andhra Pradesh's renewable energy capacity.
