JSW Steel production up 12% in February

JSW Steel (BSE: JSWSTEEL) reported a 12% increase in consolidated crude steel production for February 2025, reaching 24.07 lakh tonnes compared to 21.50 lakh tonnes in February 2024. The company's Indian operations achieved a capacity utilization of 93.5% during the month, with production totaling 23.32 lakh tonnes, a 13% increase over the previous year's 20.59 lakh tonnes. Production at JSW Steel USA – Ohio was reported at 0.75 lakh tonnes. JSW Steel, a flagship business of the US$ 24 billion JSW Group, currently has a consolidated crude steel capacity of 35.7 MTPA, including 1.5 MTPA in the US. Domestic capacity is expected to reach 34.2 MTPA following the full commissioning of an expansion project by JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Ltd. (JVML). The company aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 42% from its steel-making operations by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
