NDTV's Supreme Court petition dismissed; litigation update released

New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV) (BSE: NDTV) has announced an update regarding ongoing litigation. In a filing dated February 28, 2025, NDTV disclosed that the Hon'ble Supreme Court dismissed the company's Special Leave Petition (SLP). The SLP challenged a judgment dated January 29, 2025, passed by the Delhi High Court related to a notice issued on May 1, 2020, by the Income Tax Department regarding reassessment under Section 148 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for the assessment year 2008-09. While the SLP was dismissed, the court granted NDTV the liberty to raise all contentions initially presented in the SLP before the assessing officer. NDTV stated it will comply with the Supreme Court's order and will raise all relevant contentions before the appropriate forum.
