TVS Motor partners to empower women with e-mobility

TVS Motor Company (TVSMOTOR) has announced a partnership with the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Natural Resources Défense Council (NRDC), and AMU Leasing to launch the "Wheels of Empowerment" initiative. The program aims to empower women in rural areas by facilitating income-generating activities using electric vehicles (EVs). The initiative addresses mobility opportunities by providing affordable and accessible electric two-wheelers. Currently, 26 TVS iQube electric scooters have been deployed, with plans to add 100 more in the next quarter. The goal is to deploy 10,000 EVs over three years across 21 Indian states. SIDBI, NRDC, and AMU are introducing concessional financing and risk-sharing models to make TVS Motor EVs more affordable.
