Zydus Lifesciences to launch influenza vaccine in India

Zydus Lifesciences (BSE: ZYDUSLIFE) is set to launch VaxiFlu-4, a Quadrivalent Inactivated Influenza vaccine, offering protection against four new influenza virus strains, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the 2025 southern hemisphere season. The vaccine covers strains of both influenza A and B, providing broader protection and significantly reducing the risk of vaccine mismatch. Cleared by the Central Drug Laboratory, VaxiFlu-4 was developed at Zydus' Vaccine Technology Centre in Ahmedabad. Zydus hopes to provide affordable vaccines that serve public health through annual immunisation and prevents flu outbreaks. According to WHO, seasonal influenza results in 290,000 to 650,000 deaths annually.
