Powergrid acquires Khavda V-B1B2 and Bidar Transco

** Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the acquisition of Khavda V-B1B2 Power Transmission Limited (KVB1B2PTL) and Bidar Transco Limited (BTL), solidifying its position in the power transmission sector. Both acquisitions were made on February 18, 2025, through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route, following POWERGRID's selection as the successful bidder. KVB1B2PTL, with an acquisition cost of approximately Rs. 6.51 Crore, will focus on augmenting transformation capacity at existing substations in Gujarat. BTL, similarly acquired for Rs. 6.52 Crore, will establish augmented transformation capacity at Bidar PS in Karnataka. These acquisitions align with POWERGRID's core business of power transmission and are expected to enhance its infrastructure and service capabilities in the respective regions. Both KVB1B2PTL and BTL were recently incorporated by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited and will operate within India.
