Garden Reach wins refit contract for Mauritius Coast Guard ship

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has announced it has signed a contract with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, for the normal refit of the Mauritius Coast Guard Ship (MCGS) Barracuda. The order, valued at ₹123.07 crore plus 15% growth of work (excluding taxes), involves GRSE providing both services and mandatory spares, with additional spares considered under growth of work. As per the contract, GRSE must refit the ship within 10 months from the date of availability. This order from the Ministry of External Affairs represents a grant for the Government of Mauritius. GRSE constructed and delivered the Barracuda warship to Mauritius' Coast Guard in 2014.
