ReconAfrica drills into primary target at Kavango West 1X

Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd. announced that drilling of its Kavango West 1X exploration well is proceeding on schedule, with the final casing string set at approximately 2,300 meters, just above the targeted Otavi reservoir. The well is currently drilling into the Otavi carbonate reservoir, the primary target in the Damara Fold Belt, and expects to penetrate an extensive section of this potential reservoir. The Kavango West 1X well is testing a large structural closure, measuring almost 20 kilometers long by 3 kilometers wide.

Operations advanced ahead of schedule in shallower sections but were deferred for several weeks while awaiting casing strings. Drilling has resumed, and ReconAfrica anticipates reaching total depth (TD) in the second half of November. The well is expected to penetrate approximately 1,500 meters of potential reservoir before reaching TD at around 3,800 meters. An extensive logging program will commence at TD, with results expected by year-end 2025.

The company will maintain a "tight hole" status regarding drilling details until TD is reached and logging results are obtained. Any updates will focus solely on drilling depth.
