Italtile announces board changes: Potgieter to depart, Lourens appointed

Italtile Limited announced that Jan Potgieter will resign as a non-executive director effective November 13, 2025, having decided not to seek re-election. Potgieter previously served as chief operating officer from 2014 and chief executive from 2016 to 2021, and the board acknowledges his significant contributions to the company's retail and supply chain growth.

Concurrently, Leon Lourens has been appointed as a non-executive director, effective October 3, 2025. Lourens brings extensive retail experience from his 32-year tenure at the Pepkor Group, where he served as chief executive from 2017 until his 2023 retirement. He played a pivotal role in navigating challenges such as the Steinhoff crisis and the acquisition of Grupo Avenida.

Additionally, board committee changes include Brand Pretorius stepping down from the Remuneration, Nominations, and Social and Ethics Committees, effective October 3, 2025. Lourens will join the Remuneration and Nominations Committees on the same date. Mamedupi Matsipa has been appointed to the Social and Ethics Committee, also effective October 3, 2025.
