Brikor secures major coal supply deals with Eskom, private company

Brikor Limited has announced the finalization of two significant coal off-take agreements. The first agreement involves a three-year supply of approximately 2,800,000 tons of coal to Eskom's Grootvlei Power Station. The second is a one-year, renewable contract to supply around 600,000 tons of coal to a private company. These agreements are expected to significantly contribute to the company's operational volumes.

These off-take agreements are structured under the life-of-mine Contract Mining and Coal Purchase Agreement that Brikor and its subsidiaries signed with Ilangabi Colliery (Pty) Limited on June 29, 2023. This foundational agreement covers the Grootfontein and Vlakfontein mining rights, and was previously approved by shareholders.

The new off-take agreements are crucial for Brikor to achieve the Coal Agreement's objective of reaching minimum monthly mining tonnages of 150,000 tons. By fulfilling these agreements, Brikor anticipates earning the agreed-upon margin as stipulated in the Coal Agreement. The announcement was made on 9 September 2025 by Nigel, the designated adviser and exchange sponsors.
