Conduit Capital faces R37.4m claim from CICL liquidators

Conduit Capital Limited announced it has received a legal claim from the joint liquidators of Constantia Insurance Company Limited (in liquidation), a former subsidiary. The claim, issued out of the Western Cape High Court, relates to alleged advances totalling R37.4 million between Conduit Capital and CICL. The company has instructed its lawyers to defend the litigation.

The board of directors considers the action immaterial at this stage, with no immediate impact on operations. The board has determined that the information is not price-sensitive or material, based on a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the claim's specificity, accuracy, materiality of potential impact, and assessed likelihood of success. Shares of Conduit Capital remain suspended, with ongoing engagements with the JSE.
