ReconAfrica provides update on Kavango West 1X drilling progress

Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd. announced that its Kavango West 1X exploration well, which spudded on July 31, 2025, is progressing on schedule and is expected to reach total depth by the end of November 2025. The well is currently drilling at approximately 1,910 metres in the 8.5-inch section. The final casing string will be set at around 2,400 metres before entering the primary Otavi reservoir in October.

The company plans to penetrate over 1,500 metres of the Otavi reservoir, with the total depth projected to be between 3,800 and 4,250 metres. Brian Reinsborough, president and chief executive, expressed confidence in the operations and looks forward to reporting the play-opening well results around year-end.
