AfroCentric appoints new independent non-executive director

AfroCentric Investment Corporation Limited has announced the appointment of Charlotte Mokoena as an independent non-executive director, effective October 1, 2025. This change is in compliance with JSE Listings Requirements and aims to bolster governance structures.

Mokoena will also join three key board committees. She will replace Ronnie Wa-Mundalamo on the remuneration committee, Gerald Van Wyk on the nominations committee, and Aklaaq Mahmood on the social and ethics committee. Mokoena brings over 25 years of experience across various sectors, including strategic human resources, organisational capability development, and stakeholder relations. Her academic background includes a Master of Commerce in Leadership from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

The board expressed appreciation for Wa-Mundalamo's dedicated service. Gerald Van Wyk will continue his role as chief executive officer and will attend all board committees as an invitee. Aklaaq Mahmood will remain an executive director of Medscheme Holdings Proprietary Limited.
