Oceana Group appoints former Takealot chief as director

Oceana Group Limited has appointed Mamongae Mahlare as an independent non-executive director, effective September 1, 2025.

Mahlare brings 27 years of board and C-suite experience, having served as executive chairman and group chief executive of Takealot Group. She has also held chief executive and managing director positions at Illovo Sugar South Africa, SABMiller, Bain & Company, and Unilever.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
