eMedia Holdings declares ZAR 0.15 dividend despite profit dip

eMedia Holdings Limited (JSE:EMNE) has declared a final cash dividend of ZAR 0.15 per share for the year ended March 31, 2025, despite reporting a decrease in profits. Revenue increased slightly to ZAR 3,155.47 million from ZAR 3,059.30 million the previous year. However, operating profit fell by 10.0% to ZAR 441.72 million, and profit for the year decreased by 9.2% to ZAR 303.00 million. The group cited rand volatility and low investment in the economy as contributing factors, alongside increased legal fees related to disputes with MultiChoice and the Department of Communication. The dividend is subject to a 20% withholding tax, resulting in a net dividend of ZAR 0.12 per share for non-exempt shareholders. The last day to trade cum dividend is June 17, 2025, with payment scheduled for June 23, 2025.
