Wesizwe Platinum addresses security breach, project funding update

Wesizwe Platinum Limited (JSE:WEZ) has released an update addressing a security compromise detected in its information management systems in December 2024. The company has initiated recovery and restoration efforts, implementing stringent cybersecurity measures and vulnerability assessments. As a result of the breach, the publication of the Audited Consolidated Annual Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2024, the Integrated Annual Report, and the Notice of the Annual General Meeting will be delayed. Wesizwe is actively working with its auditors to publish these as soon as possible. The company is also awaiting approval from the China National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) for a letter of support exceeding the current US$1.519 billion funding cap for the Bakubung Project. Wesizwe anticipates completing the funding application process by the end of June 2025.
