Metrofile reclassifies Mary Bomela as independent director

Metrofile Holdings Limited (JSE:MFL) announced that Mary Bomela will be classified as an independent non-executive director. This decision, effective immediately, follows Ms. Bomela's departure from the Mineworkers Investment Company (MIC), Metrofile's empowerment partner and strategic shareholder owning 39.20% of Metrofile shares. MIC has informed Metrofile that it will nominate a new representative to the Board in due course. The Nominations Committee assessed Ms. Bomela's independence, confirming her objective judgement and lack of conflicts of interest. Ms. Bomela has served on Metrofile's board for 14 years.
