Sun International names Ulrik Bengtsson as new ceo

Sun International (JSE:SUI) has announced that Anthony Leeming will retire as Chief Executive Officer on December 31, 2025. He will be succeeded by Ulrik Bengtsson, an internationally renowned gaming executive, effective July 1, 2025, or an earlier date based on permit acquisition. Bengtsson, a Swedish national, previously served as Group CEO of William Hill plc, leading its sale to Caesars Entertainment for £2.9 billion, and oversaw the sale of William Hill's European assets to 888 Holdings for €2.3 billion. Leeming joined Sun International in 1999 and became CEO in 2017. He oversaw key achievements including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and the recapitalization of the balance sheet. Bengtsson will retire from his current chairman roles to relocate to South Africa. Leeming will remain with the company until the end of 2025.
