Absa Group appoints Kenny Fihla as new CEO

Absa Group (JSE: ABG) announced the appointment of Kenny Fihla as its new Chief Executive Officer and executive director of both Absa Group and Absa Bank. The appointment, effective June 17, 2025, follows an extensive selection process. Fihla, a recognized leader with substantial Pan-African banking experience, joins from Standard Bank Group, where he held senior roles, including Chief Executive Officer of CIB. Current Interim Chief Executive Officer Charles Russon will remain in the role until Fihla's commencement and will then transition to a key senior position within the Group Executive Committee.
