Ann Godbehere to retire from HSBC Holdings board in 2026

Ann Godbehere, senior independent director of HSBC Holdings plc, will step down from her role and retire from the board at the company's 2026 annual general meeting. Group chair Brendan Nelson thanked Godbehere for her contributions, noting her decision was for "personal and lifestyle reasons" following the successful completion of the chair search.

Ms. Godbehere expressed her privilege in serving on the HSBC board and working with her colleagues, wishing the board and management success in executing its strategy. She will continue to receive fees for her various HSBC roles until her retirement but is not entitled to any payments for loss of office.

As of September 30, 2025, HSBC Holdings plc, headquartered in London, managed assets totaling $3,234bn, operating in 57 countries and territories worldwide. The board comprises various directors, including Brendan Robert Nelson as the independent non-executive chair, and several other independent non-executive directors.
