China Mobile names Chen Zhongyue new chairman as Yang Jie steps down

China Mobile Limited announced a change in its leadership, with Yang Jie resigning as executive director and chairman due to age, effective December 22, 2025. Yang confirmed no disagreement with the board and no other matters needing disclosure regarding his resignation. The board expressed its gratitude for Yang's contributions to the company.

Following Yang's departure, Chen Zhongyue has been appointed as executive director and chairman of China Mobile Limited, effective December 22, 2025. This appointment was proposed by the nomination committee and approved by the board. Chen, aged 54, brings extensive experience from the telecommunications sector, currently serving as chairman of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., and director and chairman of China Mobile Communication Company Limited. His previous roles include leadership positions at China Telecom and China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited.

Chen’s service contract does not specify a length of service, and he will be subject to retirement by rotation. He is entitled to an annual director's fee of HK$180,000, approved by the shareholders, though he has voluntarily waived this fee. The board believes Chen's expertise will significantly contribute to the company's future.
