China Maple Leaf posts significant profit surge despite revenue dip

China Maple Leaf Educational Systems Limited reported a profit for the year ended August 31, 2025, of RMB308.9 million, a significant increase from RMB15.5 million in the prior year. Revenue for the same period was RMB1,180.0 million, down from RMB1,228.5 million in 2024. The gross profit margin improved to 49.5% in 2025 from 48.3% in 2024.

The company's EBITDA for 2025 was RMB690.1 million, a 47.3% increase from RMB468.6 million in 2024, while Adjusted EBITDA increased by 0.7% to RMB501.0 million. Basic earnings per share rose to RMB cents 10.54 from RMB cents 0.52. The board resolved not to declare a final dividend for the year.

Strategic initiatives include repositioning to an inverted pyramid model, focusing on high schools delivering the World School Program, and expanding internationally under the Canadian International School and Kingsley International School brands. The company also reported a decrease in total student enrolment by 10.7% to 8,385 students.
