Haichang Ocean Park’s Beijing project enters construction phase

Haichang Ocean Park Holdings Ltd. has announced that its Beijing Haichang Ocean Park Project has fully entered the construction phase, with an expected completion and operational launch in 2027. The project, a fifth-generation aquarium, boasts a total construction area of approximately 160,000 square meters and will include a hotel, aquarium, and supporting facilities. It aims to integrate ecology, science popularization, research, interactive experiences, performances, art, and themed hotels across 8 themed zones.

The Beijing Project is strategically located adjacent to Beijing Universal Studios Resort and Gaoloujin Station on Beijing Subway Line 7, promising convenient access and synergistic visitor flows. It is a collaborative effort between the group and Beijing Tongzhou Urban Construction and Operation Group, with the group providing brand, product planning, design, biological investment, and overall operation post-completion.

The project is considered a key municipal initiative for Beijing, included in the core cultural and tourism planning of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, and is set to receive official resource support. It is the first newly-built large-scale indoor ocean theme park in Beijing since 2000, aiming to fill a gap in high-end ocean cultural and tourism offerings and become a new important tourist destination.
