Baidu reports significant Q3 2025 loss amid strategic AI push

Baidu, Inc. announced its third-quarter 2025 results, reporting a total revenue of 31,174 million yuan, a 7% year-over-year decrease. The company experienced an operating loss of 15,091 million yuan and a net loss attributable to Baidu of 11,232 million yuan for the quarter. Diluted loss per ADS was 33.88 yuan. These losses were significantly impacted by an impairment of long-lived assets totaling 16,190 million yuan.

Despite the overall decline, Baidu's AI-powered businesses demonstrated robust growth, with revenue from AI-powered businesses increasing over 50% year-over-year to approximately 10 billion yuan. AI Cloud Infra revenue reached 4.2 billion yuan, up 33% year-over-year, and AI-native marketing services revenue surged by 262% year-over-year to 2.8 billion yuan.

Baidu's total cash and investments stood at 296.4 billion yuan as of September 30, 2025. The company's management highlighted the transformative value of AI across its portfolio, noting solid growth in AI Cloud and accelerated scaling of Apollo Go's fully driverless operations.
