Damai entertainment reports strong revenue, profit growth

Damai Entertainment Holdings Limited reported total revenue of RMB4,047 million for the six months ended September 30, 2025, a 33% year-over-year increase from RMB3,051 million in 2024. Net profit attributable to owners of the company surged by 54% to RMB519.5 million, up from RMB336.6 million in the prior year. Basic earnings per share increased to RMB1.75 cents, from RMB1.14 cents.

Adjusted EBITA for the period was RMB549.7 million, a 14% decrease from RMB642.2 million in the corresponding period of 2024. This decrease is primarily attributed to a non-recurring RMB160 million reversal of impairment on financial assets in 2024. Excluding this one-off gain, adjusted EBITA would have increased by 14% year-over-year. The company's live content and technology business segment recorded revenue of RMB1,339 million, a 15% increase, while its IP merchandizing business segment saw a 105% revenue increase to RMB1,160 million.

The drama series production segment notably turned profitable, recording segment results of RMB37.8 million compared to a loss of RMB10.9 million in the previous year, with revenue increasing by RMB423 million to RMB484.3 million. The film content and technology business, however, experienced a 15% revenue decrease to RMB1,064 million and a 22% decline in segment results to RMB95.2 million.
