Prudential's October share count dips after buybacks

Prudential Plc's monthly return for October 2025 details a net decrease of 4,468,632 ordinary shares in its issued share capital, bringing the total to 2,561,454,930 ordinary shares. This reduction primarily stems from extensive share repurchase activities throughout the month. The company also confirmed it does not have an authorized share capital.

The report detailed numerous share repurchases for cancellation from October 1 to October 31, 2025, with individual transactions ranging from 272,878 to 566,135 shares. Additionally, 570,123 shares repurchased on October 30 and 31 for cancellation were not yet cancelled as of the end of the month.

Despite the repurchases, new ordinary shares were issued under various employee schemes. The Sharesave Plan 2023 saw 14,412 new shares granted, while the International Savings-Related Share Option Scheme issued 298,306 new shares. A scrip dividend on October 16, 2025, resulted in the issuance of 2,175,535 new shares based on a reference price of $13.422519.
