China Shenhua's Jiujiang phase II unit begins commercial operation

China Shenhua Energy Company Limited announced that the No. 4 generation unit of the Jiujiang Phase II Expansion Project, a wholly-owned subsidiary, successfully completed a 168-hour continuous full-load trial operation and has transitioned to commercial operation. This development means both 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical secondary reheat coal-fired power generation units under Jiujiang Phase II are now operational.

Jiujiang Phase II, located in Liusi Town, Hukou County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is a key project under Jiangxi Province's "14th Five-Year Plan." During the trial, the unit demonstrated smooth operation and outstanding environmental performance, achieving ultra-low emission standards for dust, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides.

The project is expected to significantly enhance energy security in Jiangxi Province and the Central China region, while also fostering regional social and economic development. The announcement was issued on October 22, 2025.
