China Southern Airlines reports robust September 2025 operating growth

China Southern Airlines Company Limited announced a 4.43% year-on-year (YoY) increase in passenger capacity (ASK) for September 2025. This growth was driven by domestic and international routes, which saw increases of 3.16% and 8.42% respectively, while regional routes experienced a slight decrease of 2.22%. Passenger traffic (RPK) also rose by 5.25% YoY, with domestic routes up 4.18% and international routes up 8.61%. The overall passenger load factor improved by 0.67 percentage points to 86.30%.

In cargo operations, the group's capacity (ATK - Cargo and Mail) increased by 0.78% YoY, and cargo and mail traffic (RTK - Cargo and Mail) saw a 1.91% YoY rise. The cargo and mail load factor increased by 0.59 percentage points to 53.16%.

As of the end of September 2025, China Southern Airlines operated a fleet of 956 commercial aircraft. The group introduced seven new aircraft in September, including two A321NEO aircraft, one A320NEO aircraft, three B737-8 aircraft, and one C919 aircraft, while disposing of three aircraft.
