South Manganese appoints new executive directors and CEO

South Manganese Investment Limited announced the appointment of Zhan Haiqing as an executive director and chief executive officer, effective October 13, 2025. Concurrently, Ming Xianquan and Wan Weihua have also been appointed as executive directors. Zhan, 59, brings over 34 years of experience in the manganese industry and currently serves as party secretary and chairman of South Manganese Group Limited. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and is recognized as a senior technical expert.

Ming Xianquan, 57, joined the group in July 2012 and is currently a director and general manager of South Manganese Group. He possesses over 32 years of professional and technical experience in metallurgical, chemical, and materials engineering. Wan Weihua, 52, who joined the group in September 2018, is the deputy general manager of South Manganese Group and director and general manager of Guangxi Huiyuan Manganese Industry Co., Ltd. He has over 30 years of experience in nonferrous metals and manganese industries.

Each new director will receive a director's fee of HK$50,000 per annum and is eligible to participate in the company's share option scheme. Their appointments are for a term of three years, subject to retirement and re-election at the next annual general meeting. None of the newly appointed directors hold any interests or short positions in the company’s shares.
