Sky Light Holdings diversifies into on-demand delivery services in PRC

Sky Light Holdings Limited announced its strategic diversification into intelligent full-chain data on-demand delivery system services, targeting supermarket and hypermarket chains. This new business segment involves cooperating with delivery platforms to allocate on-demand retail delivery business to the group in specific PRC regions. The group will procure delivery EVs and accessories, which delivery riders can either rent or purchase via an online platform established by an independent software development company. Riders will pay advanced fees or one-off purchase prices directly to the group.

Revenue from advanced fees will be recognized "over time," while revenue from one-off purchases will be recognized at the point of transfer. The online platform, licensed to the group, will feature AI-based dispatch, EV tracking, energy consumption management, and anti-theft fencing, among other functions. This move leverages the group's ODM/OEM capabilities in imaging products, integrating surveillance camera components into smart helmets or charging equipment.

The company's management believes the on-demand retail delivery market in the PRC offers significant growth opportunities, driven by changing consumer habits and increased mobile penetration. The group plans to establish a separate business unit for this segment, which will be expanded gradually based on growth and scale. This diversification aims to enhance scale and broaden income streams beyond its existing imaging product segment.
