AIA group reports modest share capital increase from option exercises

AIA Group Limited reported an increase of 6,400 ordinary shares in its issued share capital, bringing the total to 10,504,439,963 ordinary shares as of September 30, 2025. This movement resulted from exercises under the 2010 Share Option Scheme, which contributed HK$268,160 in funds raised during the month.

The company's various share schemes show a dynamic landscape. The 2010 Share Option Scheme now has 14,615,698 options outstanding, with 6,400 new shares issued from exercises and 6,400 options cancelled during the month. The 2010 scheme ceased granting new options on May 29, 2020. Separately, the Share Option Scheme adopted on May 29, 2020, currently has 11,842,109 options outstanding, with 126,621 new options granted during September.

Other active schemes include the Restricted Share Unit Scheme from August 2020, with 43,281,907 units outstanding after 441,080 units were granted, 42,042 units were classified as 'Others', and 260,245 units lapsed. The Employee Share Purchase Plan from August 2020 shows 5,669,291 units outstanding, reflecting 151,028 grants, 13,870 'Others' and 43,762 lapsed units. The Agency Share Purchase Plan from February 2021 has 3,202,575 units outstanding, with 13,208 lapsed units.
