BYD reports strong September growth in NEV production, sales

BYD Company Limited reported substantial growth in its production and sales volumes for September 2025. New energy vehicle sales reached 396,270 units, an 18.64% year-on-year increase. Passenger vehicle sales contributed 393,060 units, up 17.63% from the previous year. Within passenger vehicles, battery electric vehicles saw a 37.31% year-on-year rise in sales to 205,050 units, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sales increased by 2.94% to 188,010 units.

On the production front, new energy vehicle output for September 2025 was 405,554 units, a 16.40% year-on-year increase. Passenger vehicle production mirrored this trend with 402,008 units, up 15.35%. Battery electric vehicle production climbed 34.56% to 204,838 units, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle production edged up 1.06% to 197,170 units.

The company also noted that the export volume of New Energy Vehicles for September 2025 was 71,256 units. The installed capacity of NEV power battery and energy storage battery for the month was approximately 23.200 GWh, bringing the cumulative installed capacity for the year 2025 to approximately 203.251 GWh.
