Xinte Energy narrows net loss despite polysilicon downturn

Xinte Energy reported revenue from operations of 7,310.83 million yuan for the six months ended June 30, 2025, a 37.74% decrease from the previous year, primarily due to a decline in polysilicon sales and prices. Despite this, the company's net loss attributable to shareholders significantly reduced to 256.29 million yuan, down from 887.02 million yuan in the corresponding period last year. This improvement was attributed to increased profit contributions from wind and PV power plant construction and operation segments, as well as investment income from two thermal power plants.

The polysilicon segment’s revenue decreased by 83.32% to 978.72 million yuan, with output falling by approximately 77% to 33,600 tons. Conversely, the construction of wind and PV power plants segment saw revenue increase by 4.18% to 3,340.56 million yuan, and the electrical equipment segment grew by 36.98% to 1,463.78 million yuan, mainly driven by inverter sales. The Group also expanded its operated power plant projects to over 4GW.

The company's cash outflow from operating activities was 856.53 million yuan, a shift from an inflow of 775.16 million yuan in the prior year, primarily due to polysilicon prices remaining below production costs. However, net cash inflow from financing activities surged by 556.43% to 6,145.51 million yuan, largely due to capital injections from ABC Financial and ICBC Financial and reduced debt repayment.
