Beijing Enterprises Urban Resources reports mixed H1 2025 as impairment hits profit

Beijing Enterprises Urban Resources Group Limited reported a 13.1% increase in revenue to RMB3,039.3 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025, primarily driven by its urban services segment. This segment saw revenue grow to RMB2,664.2 million from RMB2,402.2 million in the prior year. However, profit attributable to shareholders decreased by 74.7% to RMB32.5 million, largely due to a RMB161.5 million impairment loss on non-current assets. The board declared an interim dividend of HK1.8 cents per ordinary share.

The impairment loss was primarily related to the Xianju Project, a hazardous waste treatment facility, which suspended operations due to leakage incidents and faces competitive pressures. Total capital expenditures for the period were RMB127.0 million, a notable decrease from RMB310.3 million in the corresponding period of 2024.

The group’s urban services expanded to 239 projects across 25 provinces, municipalities, and 1 special administrative region. Newly secured urban service projects during the period amounted to RMB852.5 million in total contract value and RMB243.8 million in estimated annual revenue, demonstrating continued business development.
