Bank of China redeems RMB60 bn tier 2 capital bonds

Bank of China Limited has fully redeemed its RMB60 billion Tier 2 Capital Bonds as of September 23, 2025. These bonds were originally issued on September 17, 2020, with the completion of issuance announced on September 21, 2020.

The redemption was exercised on the last day of the fifth interest accrual year, as stipulated by the bond issuance prospectus. As this date was not a working day, the payment of funds was postponed to the immediate following working day.

The announcement lists the current directors of the bank, including Ge Haijiao, Zhang Hui, Liu Jin, Zhang Yong, Huang Binghua, Liu Hui, Shi Yongyan, Lou Xiaohui, Li Zimin, Jean-Louis Ekra, Giovanni Tria, Liu Xiaolei, Zhang Ran, and Ko Margaret. The non-executive and independent non-executive directors are also identified.
