Acme International Holdings reports HK$24.390m net loss, revenue falls 19.7%

Acme International Holdings Limited reported a net loss of HK$24.390 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025, a substantial decline from a net profit of HK$4.478 million in the corresponding period of 2024. Revenue decreased by 19.7% to HK$67.377 million from HK$83.932 million in 2024. Gross profit also saw a sharp reduction to HK$1.877 million, down from HK$20.872 million in the previous year, with the gross profit margin falling to 2.8%.

The Green Power Energy Business segment's revenue increased to approximately 36% of total revenue, up from 8% in the first half of 2024, driven by the acquisition of Future Energy in July 2024, which contributed HK$26.6 million. However, this segment experienced a modest loss. Conversely, the BMU Systems Business saw its revenue contribution decrease to approximately 64% of total revenue, a significant drop from 92% in the first half of 2024, with segment profit falling by around 72.0% to HK$3.3 million. The electricity trading business in Shandong recorded a negative revenue of HK$10.3 million due to abnormal fluctuations in wholesale electricity prices.

Administrative expenses significantly increased to HK$27.137 million from HK$12.744 million in 2024, primarily due to the development of the Green Power Energy Business. Net finance costs also rose to HK$2.246 million. Despite the losses, the gearing ratio improved significantly to 37.7% as at June 30, 2025, compared to 78.6% as at December 31, 2024, mainly due to a reduction in borrowings following a loan capitalization.
